Fear and Apprehension – Don’t let it get you down!

This truly is a strange Holiday season. There are a lot of people that have lost their job for one reason or another. The holiday spirit seems to have been muffled by fear and apprehension on what will happen next in this country. It seems to be paying it’s toll on many people in our country. Yet others still find some joy in their lives, which is very good.

If you happen to be one of the many plagued with fear and apprehension, you aren’t alone. At the same time, I implore you not to live there. There is a lot of nasty news coming in everyday. The new Omicron strain, travel restrictions, school shootings, crime happening more and more in certain parts of our country here in the US. Then you look at the news from other countries and the news doesn’t seem much better.

Overcoming the fear is necessary for many different reasons. A couple of the big ones are your health, your sanity and the sanity and health of your family. I cannot promise you that you can overcome all the fear and stress that has been brought on by the events of the last couple of years, but you can minimize it!

Here are a few fears that many are having right now, and how you can minimize that fear and stress produced by the fear for yourself.

1. Food/supply chain Shortage Fear. I suggest picking up a little extra every time you go to the store. You more than likely already know your budget, so just buy whatever extra you can afford of the items you normally buy. Remember to go with NEEDS over WANTS (Food over Perfume, etc.). If your kids LOVE macaroni and cheese, get a couple extra boxes of it.

2. Job Loss. It happens to the best of us. Trust me, I know! It’s a terrifying thing to lose your job. A few things that can make job loss easier is having extra supply of the things you typically buy for your family. I had some food put away, which made my fear of not having money for food a non-issue. Then all I had to worry about was my mortgage and utilities. ALSO, start contemplating other ways to make money and start putting those into place. If you’ve always wanted to write a book, GET STARTED! If you have a hobby that could make you money, get going and start selling your products. Start investigating all the ways you can make some money! Did you know you can sign up to advertise on your back window of your car for money? Neither did I, until I started to look into it.

3. Inflation. This is a real thing going on right now. The only way to beat inflation is to make sure that you are ALREADY living below your means. If you aren’t living below your means, think about what you could give up to make that happen. OR what income can you make doing other things that would increase your monthly income. ALSO, having extra of everything you buy (food, personal care items, etc.) will make this a lot easier in times of high inflationary periods.

4. Sickness. Living your healthiest life will always help prevent sickness and disease. Eat good healthy foods, exercise, drink plenty of water, limit your sugar intake and of course always consult your doctor while making life style changes. If you want to keep your immune system in tip top shape, you must make sure you are doing things everyday to make sure that happens. Start today!

These are only 4 common fears of today and there are many more fears I’m sure that people are having right now. The point I’m trying to make with this is simple, don’t live in fear. The fear can be subdued by doing a little every week to eliminate the need for that fear. Be prepared for the things that you are afraid of and the fear will no longer be necessary.

I hope everyone gets started on eliminating their worst fears, so that they can live their best lives!

Health and Wellness – Holiday Stumble

I don’t know about you, but I have always struggled to keep myself on the up and up when it comes to my health and wellness goals. Especially around the holidays when there is all that good food and desserts to partake in! This year has been no different for me.

I’ve tried so many crash diets, exercise stints and of course there is the New Years resolution that never seems to come to pass. I’ve seen everyone find temporary success with going vegan, vegetarian, keto, low carb, no carb, protein only, weight watchers, and so many more! What is truly going on out there in this world that is keeping us so darn out of shape and getting more and more round?

I have thoughts on this, and I’m going to be taking a course to become a certified nutritional coach as well, but I’m not quite there yet. So I wont be looking at it from that perspective just yet! So here are some things I think are creating a lot of our issues!

First of all, we are a society heavy on technology. We have iPads, iPhones, Android Phones, Laptops, Tablets, Video Games, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TicTock, and the list goes on and on! How much of our day is sitting in front of some form of technology? Most careers now a days are incredibly dependent on technology! Think about the movie Wall-E. The people on board that spaceship didn’t even have to walk anymore or socialize because everything was automated. They socialized through a computer screen they were hooked up to. Sounds a bit familiar doesn’t it? Technology has removed the need for many people to go out and actually physically do things!

Now, lets talk about our lack of social skills in todays world. It’s not exactly the same for everyone, but I’m pretty sure the social awkwardness has only gotten worse over the last 10 years for most people. Most kids now socialize online versus in person, and it only seems to have gotten worse with the fear a lot of people have of being around people. With that being said, depression, stress and anxiety have increased by quite a bit over the last couple years. What do these emotions create? Stress hormone production within the body such as cortisol that horrible little hormone that compounds belly fat issues. Our stressors and fear have lowered our metabolisms and reduced our abilities to have our normal cutting of calories and exercise do the job it once did.

We all remember Grandma’s cooking, with all the herbs, spices and special talents of creating tender mouth watering food for the whole family. Most people today do not know any of those tricks of the cooking trade, and therefore prefer to eat out. Because of the expense and inflation, we as a society are more and more becoming dependent on processed foods and fast food chains. A lot of the foods we consume today are so heavily processed, our bodies don’t digest it very well and even worse, we may not be able to absorb the nutrition our bodies need from the food we are eating. Not to mention the sugar coma we find ourselves in due to the excessive use of sugar by the food industry. I’ve spent a lot of time working in the food industry, so I could go into a lot more detail on how the ingredients and solutions the food industry has used isn’t always in the best interest of the consumer’s health and wellness.

What can we do to correct this problem?

First things first, we all need to take a little bit of time to really look at the things we are consuming and ask ourselves after each item how we truly feel physically afterwards. Our bodies will tell us by feeling sluggish, bloated, puffy, indigestion etc. If our bodies feel crappy after the meal, we maybe shouldn’t have that meal anymore.

The second thing we can do, is take some cooking classes through YouTube. It is free and there are plenty of those that know how to cook that have no issue posting videos about it on YouTube. In fact, I bet there are already a TON of videos already out there. You could also take a real cooking class through a local college through their continuing education courses. They are typically pretty affordable.

The third thing we can do, reduce the amount of processed foods we are consuming and replace those meals with simple things such as vegetables. You can even add cheese to them if you don’t particularly care for vegetables. They do grow on your overtime though! So keep giving them a chance.

The last thing I’m going to suggest is attempting to grow your own foods over the summer especially. There is nothing better than picking your own veggies or fruits from your own garden. This is also good because the chemicals being used in the food industry to kill bugs, the genetic engineering used to improve crop yield, may not be the healthiest either. Grow your own chickens for eggs! This winter I have some indoor veggies growing. This is the first time I’ve tried to grow strawberries, lettuce, tomatoes and green peppers inside, so I’m hoping it turns out!

Updates and A Quick Thanksgiving Chat

Happy Thanksgiving Day Pictures, Wallpapers & HD Images 2014

Licensing Update

This past Friday I was signed up to take a massive test to get licensed in Health and Life insurance. The test was scheduled to be a 3 hour test and I finished it in 2 hours! About and hour later I found out I passed the test! So now I’m awaiting my insurance license application to get approved. Beyond that, I’m working on getting all the information filled out with the company I will be working with. It’s quite exciting to be trying something completely new! Not to mention the folks that I’ll be working with on our team are incredibly motivated, positive and working on developing the whole team equally. Not something you see everywhere you work.

Thanksgiving History

As you might have seen, I put out a podcast yesterday all about Thanksgiving and the Thanksgiving Spirit. I felt this was a perfect topic considering the time of year and the state of the world currently. A lot of people are stressed out and afraid of what they see and hear on a daily basis. So, I ask that you put the frightening scary things away for the holiday and focus on being grateful. If you are a spiritual personal, spend some time with your higher power. The comfort that comes from these practices far outweigh the fear and anxiety that we might be feeling due to work, mandates and world events.

As I reviewed the story of the Pilgrims for Life and Things Podcast I put out, I found it interesting that the Pilgrims themselves were going through tyranny, religious persecution and fear. What did they do? They found their way out of the shadows and slowly worked to put their families in a better place. None of it was easy though, and a lot of people dealt with sickness, famine, uncertainty and even death. They never did give up though, and they found hope and faith among the tough and trying times. I believe we should be doing the same now.

We need to turn away from the negativity, hate and division we find our country as well as others in. There should be support, love and care sent out to our neighbors, no matter if they are the same as us or not. Stop focusing on the political views and start focusing on the American Dream that once was. The dream was to give all Americans and those that came to our country legally a chance to live the best life possible. We had whole families that weren’t divided over hate, politics and other petty divisions. As a world, we need to start giving each other grace, because not one person on this planet is perfect.

Finally, I want to end this with saying that I know we can get through anything if we stick together. Find your habit of gratitude and focus on what you really want your life and this world to look like. Then be kind to your neighbors, colleagues and fellow humans in general. Even thought we may all get on each others nerves at times, and we may not always see eye to eye, we can always find a win/win and create the best possible scenario for everyone. We can break bread with those we once despised, and give thanks for the opportunities and successes that we create together.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgivings, God Bless.

Licensing and Finding New Ways of Income

Thrive Forwards Studio on Etsy

The newest adventure I’ve started is getting licensed in Health and Life insurance. Like most people, insurance agents and brokers seem like more of an annoyance than anything else. However they still play their role. The rules and regulations on insurance agents has become quite immense and the agent or broker is no longer allowed to really cold call people. The only reason an agent would contact you now-a-days is because you called them for information OR because you filled out a form saying you wanted more information either online or from your snail mail.

The testing is quite immense, it’s amazing how MUCH information the agent/broker has to remember, understand and be able to explain to the people they are assisting with their insurance needs. Life/health/Car/Mortgage insurances are all separate licenses that you have to test for separately. I studied for nearly 3 weeks and the test took me about 2 hours to take the test. They do give you 3 hours to take the test and there are two parts, the state information and the general information portions of the test. You find out immediately if you pass the test. I was absolutely excited to learn I passed!

The next thing you need to do, at least in the state of Georgia, is fill out the application online and attach an affidavit stating you are legal citizen of the United States or a legal foreigner living here. The affidavit has to be notarized, which I was able to do online through an app that Apple has created for notaries to do their job remote for people. You also have to attach a picture ID to the application and submit it for review. Lastly, you need to register on GAP for being finger printed.

As you can see, this is greatly regulated. I’m quite excited that I’m closer to getting this license and seeing what this kind of career will be like. As you all know, I’m working on several different ways of making money. I don’t think anyone should depend on only ONE method of having a livelihood anymore. We are responsible for making sure we are protecting ourselves. Especially considering what we have seen going on around the world during this pandemic.

I was talking to a acquaintance the other day, and she was feeling the same way. It’s important that we find ways to protect our current way of living, because at any moment, things could change for the worse and if we have no backup plan or another way of making money then that’s it. So look at what you enjoy, hobbies and just new things that you wouldn’t mind trying out and give it a shot. Think outside the box and work outside your comfort zone. Doing so will give you more and more confidence as you learn new things and you will be protecting your current standard of living.

“Dark Winter” — Science Fiction Thriller….or is it.

Operation "Dark Winter"
Dark Winter Feature

By: Korrin Doyle

I’ve been studying A LOT for my License (the test is tomorrow!!!!), and not really watching news or anything like that. I do occasionally browse around YouTube or Rumble for some interesting information from all sorts of people all over the world. I also am a big fan of those schoolie bus builds, someday I’m going to be building one of those! As I was browsing youtube I found an very interesting title from a youtuber I’ve never heard of before, and I will probably never remember the name of the channel. I immediately did a couple of searches because of the title alone, and chose not to listen to the video. Also, folks, this really does sound like every B movie science fiction movie I’ve watched!

The title of the video was “Operation Dark Winter”. It’s so interesting because I’ve heard the reference to dark winter several times in the past year, and one of those times was right out of President Biden’s mouth. This world has been a bit strange for the last two years, so I now don’t really claim anything to be “tin hat”, “conspiracy theory” or “crazy” anymore. I did a quick google search and interestingly enough Wikipedia was one of the top things that came up (Operation Dark Winter – Wikipedia). In short it says that operation dark winter was a bio-terrorist simulation that was put on in June of 2001 by our country (right before September 11th Terror Attack), where smallpox was released in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Georgia. The goal was to find out our weaknesses as a country in the event this would happen.

I found this interesting. Why are they talking about this now? If of course this is what Biden meant about this was going to be a “Dark Winter”. So I did another google search on “Small Pox” in the news. Here is what I came up with: Lab worker discovers frozen vials labelled ‘Smallpox’ in freezer, Vials Labeled Smallpox Found at Montgomery County Merck Facility, Bill Gates warns of Smallpox Terror Attack and Seeks Funding for Research. Anyways, it seems like Bill Gates always is linked to strange things. So I looked into Bill Gates and found Event 201, which was a simulation regarding a Pandemic, and this was done in October of 2019, directly before the Pandemic (Bill Gates Foundation was involved). On the Event 201 website (About Event 201, a high-level pandemic exercise on October …) it states this in the text: “Similar to the Center’s 3 previous exercises—Clade XDark Winter, and Atlantic Storm—Event 201 aimed to educate senior leaders at the highest level of US and international governments and leaders in global industries.” What occurred during this “current” pandemic, it doesn’t seem like they learned too much to help stop any economic devastation, and they also made some quite ridiculous errors like sticking sick people in nursing homes, so that is a little laughable.

So lets take a look at these other two “exercises” they’ve put on, that I’ve never heard of. Event Clade X occurred in May of 2018, it doesn’t say much of what this event entailed, just this:

“key takeaways from Clade X will educate senior leaders at the highest level of the US government, as well as members of the global policy and preparedness community and the general public”.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t feel I even knew this event happened nor do I feel like I am any more prepared because of Event Clade X. Then, there was Event Atlantic Storm. Here is a quick summary from that one pulled from (Atlantic Storm from a .gov website).

“On 14 January 2005, ten heads of government from Europe and North America and the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO; Geneva, Switzerland) were scheduled to meet for a ‘Transatlantic Security Summit’ in Washington, DC, USA, to discuss the threat of international terrorism. On the eve of the meeting, news broke that citizens from several European countries appeared to have become ill with smallpox; shortly thereafter suspected smallpox cases appeared in the USA. Although the assembled leaders did not know it at the time, a radical terrorist group had obtained seed strains of Variola major—the virus causing smallpox—and deliberately released the virus in a number of main transport hubs and sites of commerce throughout Europe and North America. On 14 January, the heads of states who gathered in Washington were confronted with one of the worst nightmares imaginable: the use of contagious and deadly disease as a weapon.”

A little bit about Smallpox from a nerd (that is me), Small pox is like Chicken Pox on Steroids. It covers the whole body with these puss filled pox including the mouth, throat and lord only knows where else. There are two different types of Small Pox, Variola Minor (only kills 1% of victims) and Variola Major (kills about 30% of victims). So in the scenario from Atlantic Storm, 30% of victims would die, and if it becomes a world wide pandemic like COVID-19 did, it would kill roughly 2.3 Billion people out of the world population of 7.8 Billion. For those who say, “Oh we’ve been vaccinated against this.” Another quick fun fact: “Routine smallpox vaccination among the American public stopped in 1972 after the disease was eradicated in the United States (Vaccine Basics | Smallpox | CDC).” I’d say MOST of us are probably NOT vaccinated against this anymore. So lets dig a little tiny bit deeper, because this is a little intriguing what I already knew, but I’ll dig up some news from this event!

I remember this because it literally was right before the Corona Virus Pandemic, and I’m a nerd with a Bachelors of Biology, Minor in Chemistry and loved everything Microbiology related during my education at the University. So of course I would remember this! Here is the article that really says it all, Explosion at Russian lab known for housing smallpox virus …. This happened in September 2019. If you didn’t know, there are only two labs in existence that hold some of the worlds deadliest microorganisms: the Russian lab that exploded and the CDC here in Georgia. I don’t remember them ever telling us how the lab exploded or if they were sure that all the scary stuff stored there was accounted for.

Before the vials were found and prior to the most recent Bill Gates asking for more money to host more deadly disease research, a fun Docu-Drama was put out in September 2021, Smallpox 2002: Silent Weapon – YouTube. So many interesting things! Not to worry though, they’ve done those events to protect us…..

The Past TWO Weeks (In Review)

By: Korrin Doyle

It’s amazing how much I’ve actually had going on the last couple of weeks. In summary, I’ve been busy with my daughter, finding a cool hobby, studying for a test and becoming more active with my church. As some of you know, I’ve been unemployed for a while. Finding a job close to where I live has been a challenge. I’ve decided to become incredibly open to new ideas for my life. I’m looking at this whole thing as if something doesn’t work over and over, then it’s time to try something knew. Another way of saying this, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. I’m choosing sanity!

For the last several months, I’ve been leading a Connect group through Limitless Church out of Atlanta, and I’ve been attending another connect group that is focusing on building women leaders. It’s been amazing, fun, and I’ve been learning a lot! I’ve met some incredible women in the connect group I’m leading as well as through the one I’m attending. I’m so glad I decided to become active with my church and continue developing myself. I will be getting more and more active as opportunities present themselves.

I’ve also been keeping my eye out for a new job opportunity that aren’t quite what I’ve been used to. As we all have heard, when one door closes another will surely open. We just need to make sure we are open to them when they come around. I ended up getting contacted by two individuals looking for insurance agents, and I thought, why not? It sounds like a really fun group of people and fairly lucrative with some hard work. The company I’d be working with has quite the support system too. 2-3 weeks ago, I started studying for my insurance license, and am really close to being ready to take the test for my license.

I’m still 100% preparing myself for a boom in my coaching program that I’ve developed. There is nothing like gaining clarity and working on yourself to bring you to want to help others through that journey! When the time comes and clients start to find me, it’s going to be a game changer! I cannot wait to start helping women through their roadblocks and into their true purpose in life. Building confidence and opening new doors for them!

Then, there is my my new fun hobby! I’ve decided to go all in with my artsy side. I’ve been creating fun resin art creations, and of course why not open an Etsy store to sell my creations? Go checkout my first couple of items that I have posted! I have several more than I just completed, but haven’t posted yet, including a resin crystal unicorn, a chess/checkers board and pieces, and I’ve also got Quote resin pieces. My favorite is the ocean scene resin! I’m going to be posting pictures of several more as I make them in different shapes and sizes! We are also making walking/hiking sticks out of crepe myrtle wood. They are looking grreat! Once we finish with the final sanding and last coat of stain, those will be up there as well! Check out the store here —> https://www.etsy.com/shop/ThriveForwardsStudio

Lots of incredibly fun and exciting things going on in my world right now. I will keep you up to date on how everything is going from my weight loss journey as well! I have a nutritional coaching class I’m going to be starting as soon as I’m done with my insurance license, and from there I’m going to critique my own diet and exercise plan, see if I cannot transform my health while I’m already changing my world completely! Stay tuned, it’s getting exciting!

Designing a Prosperous Life

By: Korrin Doyle

Over the last few months, I’ve been contemplating a lot of new thoughts and ideas. Life has a way of throwing you down pathways you never really expected to go down. There have been a lot of learnings during this chapter of my life. I thought I’d spend a minute or two diving into my thoughts on how you can design a more robust and prosperous life. When I talk about being prosperous in life, during this article, I’m talking strictly about personal wealth and security. Of course there is far more to true prosperity like relationships and health, but that is for another article and another time.

Most of us start out as normies, that have all their eggs in one defined basket. We’ve selected our career path, and are staying the course! Some people stay the course so well, that they are with employers 10+ years, sometimes as long as 40 years! That’s rare now a days, but it does still happen. We have all our income in one basket per adult in a family. In some households with a mom and dad, they have two income streams, one from the mom and one from the dad. This is probably the most ideal situation for most of us normies. However, more and more families are broken and down to one stream of income.

To build you up to where I’m going with this, I’d like to tell you a little story that happened recently to someone I used to work with. They were following their employers requirements with this whole CV thing. He and their wife decided to go get the 1st shot together, were sick for a day and felt better after. He had a week off of work and decided to go ahead and get his second one by himself. That night he wasn’t feeling well, and by morning he was doing strange things and babbling incoherently. After two ER visits, they were told he had had a bad reaction to the Vax. They had no idea how to fix his reaction. The two of them have two boys that are still school age, so the wife made the choice not to take the second shot. Her employer (healthcare) let her go for not taking the 2nd CV shot. So now they both are now not working.

This story is probably happening a lot right now, and hits my point directly. Your employer is your sole income, and if they decide you are no longer necessary for them to do business OR you pushed back and they didn’t like it OR if they have a benefit from not having you on their employment roster, you are gone and they feel none of the pain. With that being said, the biggest learnings I’ve had from the past few years, we need to start thinking outside of the box. I’m not going to be putting all my eggs in one basket anymore, instead I’m working on figuring multiple streams of income.

When you look at all the evidence out there on how people become independently wealthy, most of them do not rely on the income of one employer. There are several ways that people make money including: writing books, making things and selling them, coming up with a sellable product, being an affiliate, buying wholesale and selling for profit, advertisement income from social media platforms like blogs, podcasts and YouTube channels, having rental properties, flipping homes, etc. There are so many ways to make income, its actually unbelievable.

The type of income streams are very important when it comes to building wealth and financial freedom. There are two types of incomes: Passive and Active incomes. The goal here, should be to find as many passive incomes as you can. Passive income, is income where you do something ONCE and it continues to make money for you. Active income is having to do things over and over again to make an income. An example of passive income could be writing a book, and people continuing to buy it over your life. Active income would be your J.O.B or making something to sell, etc.

Though I haven’t completely created my path yet, I have a descent plan. The part to these plans, as you make them, is that they do not happen over night. It takes time, patience and resilience. We live in an instant gratification world, so for most of us having patience for the end result that could take years, is like pulling teeth. It’s like the hair and the tortoise fable; slow and steady wins the race.

Negative Energy and You

By: Korrin Doyle

Your brain is the power house of the body. The good, the bad and the ugly ALL start in your brain! All the hormones, messages to your body and the functionality of your body is driven by the brains neurological connections. So what does this mean for you? The way you perceive your world will dictate the signals sent out by your brain, which in turn will determine the way your body will react. If your thoughts are healthy, your body will be healthy. If your thoughts are negative and stressful, your body will have signs and symptoms from that negativity and stress, and you wont feel good or healthy physically.

Some people are stuck in a cycle of negativity and cannot find their way to the land of green pastures and happiness. If you are someone that seems to constantly have bad things happen, and don’t think you can find your way out of your cycle, it isn’t too late for you. You can either find the path yourself or find someone like a Life Coach, to help you navigate the terrain and find the joy you have been longing for.

Causes of the Negative Life Syndrome

  1. Family history and belief systems.
  2. Traumatic Experiences
  3. Life experiences that lead to the same place
  4. Low self-confidence
  5. How you feel about yourself.
  6. Caring about what others say or think about you.
  7. Not seeing a path to follow your dreams.
  8. Not knowing/living in your purpose.
  9. Thinking things and people can make your happy.
  10. Not spending time doing things that are healthy for yourself.

Energy and You

The Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy can neither be created no destroyed, only transformed from one form to another. Though most of this was talking about the states of solid, liquid and gas or from energy at rest to energy in motion, it still can fit with positive to negative use of the energy. Your whole body is made up of energy whether it’s mental energy or physical energy, you can transform this energy from positive to negative OR negative to positive, just by the way you think!

Energy can come in the form of a frequency. The higher the frequency, the greater the energy expenditure, while the lower the frequency the lower the energy expenditure. Frequency is emitted through light and sound. If you have ever heard of negative frequencies causing disarray and happy frequencies causing uniform calm structure in ice, you’ll understand completely where I am going with this. Look at the images below to really get a clear picture. The first image shows the shapes water takes when exposed to the frequency of each of the positive things listed. The next image does a nice comparison between positive and negative frequencies that the water is exposed to before it freezes.

I’m sure everyone reading this right now knows that 60% of our bodies are made from water. Keeping that in mind, you can now look at the environments you’ve found yourself in and how those environments have made you feel. If the environments are full of love, kindness, passion, and gratitude more than likely you felt happy, peaceful and harmonious. Where as, when you are in a bad environment where there is heavy competition with underhanded actions, lies and deception you might feel out of sorts, stressed and exhausted. Your body reacts to the negative energies exactly the same as particles of water react to them.

Transformation of Energy

Whatever energy you have become accustom to in your life will continue if you do not become mindful and take steps to change the cycle you are in. Negative energy attracts more negative energy. Changing the cycle to be more positive is 100% possible, but change will need to happen. Not everyone is comfortable with change, and the resistance to change can make you even more stuck. This is where being mindful and talking yourself through each step is important.

First, lets look at ourselves VERY closely. Most things become positive or negative because of how we are perceiving things. Our perceptions right or wrong could be causing MOST of our own personal angst and negativity. What do you tell yourself day in and day out? I’m not saying that you speak out loud to yourself, but you do have your own thoughts and ideas about you that may need to change. Do you like who you are? Are you telling yourself positive or negative things about yourself? We cannot be perfect ALL the time, but if you don’t like how you look, tell yourself you aren’t good enough, that you wont be successful and wont forgive yourself for mistakes etc., then your mind is negative all on its own. Your cycle wont end, until you get your perspective and mindset right.

Next, lets look at the environments you find yourself. Your home life, work life and any extracurricular activities are all important. If the energy from one or all are not very good, you need to determine what is making them bad. Then, look at those things you’ve pinpointed and determine what can you control and what can’t you control. It’s important to realize that change might be something you need in order to relieve yourself from what is causing the negative energy to form. This can be in the form of setting boundaries, letting go of negative people that refuse to acknowledge your boundaries (friends or sadly sometimes family), changing departments at work, changing jobs, sometimes even a complete career change may be justified.

Whatever the changes are that you determine, you must make sure you are truly accepting of them before making the changes. If you are still resistant to the changes, while making the changes, you will cause yourself even more grief! There are pros and cons to all changes, and it’s healthy to write those out and determine if the pros are great enough to overcome the cons. You also want to make a very strong WHY statement. What is your why for making the change. When it comes to change, you do not want to make these decisions whimsically or through a knee-jerk reaction. Just remember, the goal is to make changes that will positively impact you, not negatively impact you.

Finally, lets look at the interactions you have with your surroundings. What kind of energy are you putting out to the world? Do your actions and words match the peace and harmony you wish to find? If you are being hateful to others, having massive road rage, holding grudges, and being mean to people in your life (it doesn’t matter what part of your life), you are your own problem. Until you stop the negative acts yourself, the world will only return to you that which you put out there. Not to mention there is science backing that we self-inflict sickness on ourselves by being negative and hateful.

In Conclusion

If you happen to be a person struggling with negativity and negative events always happening to you, hopefully this gave you some insight. The dark cloud that follows you doesn’t have to be permanent. It does take a lot of self-work and dedication to change for the better, but its well worth the effort at the end. You will feel far more joy than you ever thought imaginable.

On this Day

By Korrin Doyle

Today is a day like every other day. It’s a school day, a work day and a fall day. It also happens to be my birthday! Everyday is someone’s birthday, and today just so happens to be mine. It’s fun to see all the facebook posts and linkedin posts of people saying Happy Birthday! This year though, I’m going to spend the whole day being mindful and living in gratitude. Most days we are too busy bustling around at work, in school, with our families and don’t take the time to really think about how lucky we truly are.

We spend far too much time in our lives worried about the negative things. They treated me like, that personal said this to me, I work too much, my kids are doing this or that. Why not try to spend more time living in a more positive mind set? The simple answer, we were taught and programmed not to since birth. Sounds crazy, I know! It is completely true though. I didn’t accomplish this, I feel bad about that, I wasn’t perfect in that or I failed here or there.

Today, on my Birthday, I would love to promote everyone to take 5-10 minutes out of there day today and just be mindful of your thoughts and think about what you are grateful for. Your day will be less hectic, your heart less burdened and you mind and body will feel less stressed. Take a couple of deep breaths here. Then list off what you are grateful for outload. Do it outload so that you aren’t only thinking it, but hearing it in your own voice.

My Gratitude List on THIS Day

  • My Daughter
  • My Boyfriend Brian
  • My Parents
  • My sister, niece and nephew
  • All of my extended Family!
  • My amazing friends!
  • The clear skies.
  • My courage to live outside the box.
  • The community I live
  • The Dojo my daughter goes to and all the great coaches.
  • My amazing German Shephard Turbo and cat Simba.
  • The text messages from the amazing people I’ve gotten to know in my life.
  • The growth and development I’ve been able to have this year.
  • The peace I’ve found this year.
  • The health I’ve had this year.
  • My home and community I’ve been a part of in my subdivision.
  • The chipmunks and squirrels outside.
  • The amazing connect groups I’ve been a part of this season.
  • The love and acceptance I’ve found this year.

This is a nice healthy list of things I’m grateful for and I’m sure I could go on for quite a bit longer. If we all found a little time for gratitude every day, can you imagine the impact that would have on this world. The hate, emotional triggers and frustration would start to be minimized. So take some time out, start a gratitude habit today. Enjoy your surrounds and focus on the positives around you, and you will live a much happier and brighter life.
